TASHKENT, May 14. /“Dunyo” IA/. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Humo Arena sports complex and watched the World Boxing Championships, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of state, more than 600 boxers from 107 countries are participating in the prestigious tournament. The national team of Uzbekistan is represented in all 13 weight categories. Until now, the country’s boxers have already won 9 medals.

On May 13, the Head of state watched the finals with the participation of Uzbekistan’s boxers. In exciting and uncompromising fights, gold medals were won by Asadkhuja Muidinkhujayev, who defeated Dulat Bekbauov from Kazakhstan, Khasanboy Dusmatov, who defeated Billal Bennama from France, and Bakhodir Jalolov, who defeated Cuban Alejandro Arzola.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented gold medals and championship belts to the winners. They will also receive cash prizes from the International Boxing Association (IBA).

On the last day of the World Championships, May 14, four more of Uzbekistan’s boxers will enter the ring.
