TASHKENT, February 14. /“Dunyo” IA/. Uzbekistan’s Komiljon Tukhtayev began his participation in the Winter Olympics 2022 in Beijing, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The Uzbek athlete completed his first race. He took 35th place among 89 athletes. It should be noted that Komiljon Tukhtayev broke his personal record at the Winter Olympics with this result. Four years ago, at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyongyang, South Korea, he took the 52nd.

According to the results of the second attempt, Komiljon Tukhtayev took 29th place.

Marco Odermatt from Switzerland won the Olympic giant slalom. Slovenian Žan Kranjec won the silver medal, and Mathieu Faivre of France closed the trio of winners.

It should be noted that the difficulty for the athletes is that the track is covered with artificial snow and sharp turns. The height of the start point is 1925 meters, the finish point is 1501 meters, and the vertical length of the track is 424 meters.

On 16 February, Komiljon Tukhtayev will compete in slalom.
