TASHKENT, June 4. /Dunyo IA/. Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received the copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of India Smita Pant, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“Pleased to welcome the newly appointed Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan H.E. Smita Pant and receive copies of her credentials, – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram channel. – We discussed our joint efforts to enhance cooperation across various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, transport, logistics, and more. Our primary goal is to facilitate trade and investment cooperation. Wish Madam Ambassador success in unlocking the untapped potential of our bilateral relations”.
Career diplomat Smita Pant, before her appointment to Tashkent, worked at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs as Director of the Department for Bangladesh and Myanmar. Before that, she held various positions in the central office of the Ministry of External Affairs and in a number of diplomatic missions abroad.
The new ambassador replaced Manish Prabhat, who headed the Indian Embassy in Tashkent from 2020 to 2024.
